When Isla’s mom reached out to talk about her cakesmash she said that she wanted her to be a guest on “Watch What Happens Live” which is hosted by the very handsome Andy Cohen. She is a huge fan of the show and also a big fan of Lisa Rinna who is a frequent guest on the show. If you click here, you can see a clip I based the cakesmash on. This setup took months to plan out! I was stalking tarsal pages to find the right bookshelf, had my neighbor drive all the way to Norwalk to pick it up for me. The carpet came from Wayfair, the canvases of course had to be part of the setup. I tried to match their outfits based on the above clip I mentioned. Mom brought along the bunny wrapped in plastic, something only WWHL insiders will know about. We also had his dog there, well in a plush version, but that’s the best we could do. Haha. The mazel mug cake could not be missing and of course, the main centerpiece was the big WWHL sign made my baker and friend James Ramos. We were planning on just using a cardboard cutout of Andy but then I remembered that I had another cakesmash that day and I asked mom if we could borrow her child to model as Andy. She was immediately game, being a huge fan of the show herself. What fun we had! These two were impossible to keep still and no one, except me cared about the cake. It really is a shame when kids don’t want sweets. It always makes my heart bleed. One day will miss the day when we offered them a whole cake, mark my words!
These images came out so cute, I couldn’t wait to post them! And once we posted a little behind the scenes Video on Instagram Andy himself commented on it!!!! OMG!!
That was already majorly exciting but then the next day someone from the show reached out and asked if they could use the clip-on air! WHAATT!!! I could not wait to see what they had planned for it and sure enough, we earned Andy’s Mazel of the Day!!!!!!
And then we also got a retweet from the show the next day! Anndddd Miss Lisa Rinna gave it some love as well!!!!
We also got an amazing share on POPSUGAR, who wrote about this cakesmash. MOM.COM also wrote a really nice article about this fun adventure. It can also be found on Yahoo and Newsbreak.
This has been such a fun ride and I am so very grateful for all the love once again! We also got invited to be in the audience of his show which will tape later this month. Can you imagine? We truly have so much to be thankful for. If you have never seen this show, now it is time to check it out!!
