What to Know Before Your CT Family Photo Session | Q&A
- Q: What’s the best time of year for family photos in Connecticut?
A: Honestly? Every season has its magic! Fall is a fan favorite with all those rich, colorful leaves. But summer sunsets and spring blossoms can be just as stunning. It really depends on your family’s vibe and what feels right for you. As a side note, we stop photographing families outside on October 31st and move to the studio only for the rest of the year.
- Q: What should we wear for our family session?
A: Think coordinated, not matching. Soft neutrals with a pop of color or gentle patterns work beautifully. And don’t worry, all of our custom sessions include personal styling, where I will help you step by step.
- Q: Can we include grandparents or pets in the session?
A: Yes, please! We love it when families go all in. Grandparents bring the love and legacy, and pets (no snakes, please!) bring the fun (and maybe a small amount of chaos, the cute kind, of course!).
- Q: What if my kids don’t cooperate?
A: Totally normal, and totally okay! Our sessions are playful and relaxed, giving plenty of space for silly moments, spontaneous giggles, and genuine personalities to shine through. Bribes can always be helpful, too!
- Q: Where do family sessions usually take place in Connecticut?
A: We shoot at some of the most beautiful spots around, scenic beaches, charming fields, green parks, and even deep in the woods. We’ll help you pick the perfect location to match your family’s personality and style.
- Q: How long are family sessions?
A: Sessions usually last about 20 or 45 minutes, depending on which collection you choose. No worries, after so many years, I am a pro at capturing playful interactions, and plenty of candid moments you’ll treasure forever.
- Q: What should we expect from the experience?
A: I’ll guide you gently through poses, interactions, and fun prompts so every shot feels effortless and full of personality. We focus on laughter, connection, and capturing the precious moments that make your family yours.
