Okay but… can we talk about this theme for a second?! Because I am officially obsessed.
We just added a brand new backdrop to the studio collection called “Love You to the Moon and Back” and it made its debut in the most perfect way, with the sweetest little birthday boy celebrating his very first trip around the sun.

Mom came to me with a vision (we LOVE a mom with a vision), and together we brought it to life in the most magical way. Soft dreamy tones, moon and stars, and all the cozy, love-filled vibes you could possibly imagine. Everything was styled to match perfectly, because you know I don’t do “almost matching”… we go all in over here.

And then… she brought the cutest little car as a prop for his pre-cake photos.
I mean… stop it right now.

It was the perfect touch to add a bit of personality before the cake smash portion. These “before the smash” moments are honestly some of my favorites. Your baby is still clean(ish), curious, and giving us all those adorable expressions before things get deliciously messy.

And when the cake came out?
GAME. ON.
This little guy had the BEST time. Frosting everywhere, giggles, tiny hands going all in, it was everything a cake smash should be. No hesitation, no overthinking… just pure baby joy. Exactly how we like it.

Why You Should Absolutely Book a Cake Smash 🎂
If you’re on the fence about doing a cake smash for your baby’s first birthday—this is your sign.

This stage? It’s gone in a blink. One minute they’re tiny newborns, and the next they’re smashing cake like pros and showing off their big personalities.

A cake smash session captures:
- Those chubby little hands and cheeks
- Their curious (and sometimes chaotic 😂) personalities
- Milestone memories you will NEVER get back

And let’s be honest… it’s also just really, really fun.
When to Book (This Part Is Important!)
I always recommend scheduling your cake smash session around 10–11 months.

Why? Because:
- Your baby is usually sitting well and is more interactive
- You’ll have the photos ready in time for their first birthday
- And we avoid that “just learned to walk and won’t sit still” phase (you know the one )
My calendar fills up quickly, especially for custom themes like this one, so getting on the books early is key if you want something personalized and styled just for your little one.

If you’ve been dreaming about a special theme or have something meaningful in mind, I am all in for bringing it to life. Whether it’s moons and stars, race cars, florals, or something totally unique, we’ll make it happen.

Because first birthdays deserve to be celebrated in a way that feels just as special as they are. If you are looking for a cake smash photographer in Milford, Connecticut, reach out to me today to get more information!
